MUST you change the common name as well as the scientific name???? Keeping it the same (Common Silverweed) provides some continuity. Please.

In the UK the common name is just SILVERWEED and as for the change in scientific binomial - rubbish - poor old Linnaeus - 300 years!!!

There are several active common names, and silverweed is one of them (of many more common names that exist for this taxon!). I think always the first name in the list is shown, but it is possible to enter any of them to find A. anserina.
But usually common names are not good for a ID, they are often misleading because common names are often used for several species. I bet many of the Argentina species are called silverweed, in fact it would make sense to call this genus 'silverweeds' and the genus Potentilla 'cinquefoils'. Most Argentina species are endemic to south eastern Asia, especially China and New Guinea only few species have spread around the world. iNaturalist is a global tool, and not just for ecoregions like the UK where there is only one species. In my opinion it makes more sense to use names that are unique, so i would prefer the name common silverweed compared to the many other silverweed species.

As i said, silverweed without the word common is enough to be redirected to A. anserina. The only problem you have that only one of the common names is displayed at once.
