All over the bark of sawed-up segments of long-down trees. Capsules are vertical, with stalks about 1 cm. Capsules are 2.5 mm with a long sharp cap 1 mm. Capsule length and length of cap exceed the descriptions in McKnight and Rohrer for Leskea gracilescens, but the leaves are very short which would fit with L gracilescens. I need better pictures. The next to last photo is at 100x. It shows a midrib on one leaf that goes almost to the tip.
found on a chunk of fallen deciduous bark. i've never seen a Punctelia with apothecia before, how exciting! ID based on thallus shape/color and the presence of pseudocyphellae. presumably P. rudecta due to the isidia.
