Dark brown snake. Viper shape head. Irregular cream “rings.” Tail not visible. Couldn’t see pupils. Didn’t move at all. Beside Soberanes Canyon Trail in Garrapata State Park.
Note on the right of cluster, under two California treefrogs is a single Pseudacris hypochondriaca.
Possible Red-legged frog
An appropriate observation for the base of Frog Woman rock. Decided to leave it undisturbed beneath its rock. It was small though, my only hesitation in the ID is the size, as it is described as a large toad, and this one was quite little. The head here maybe the size of a quarter.
