Wild strawberry on ground in closed Ñirre forest patch next to campsite at about 500 m in elevation. It is scattered amongst Acaena pinnatifida, leaf litter, Acaena ovalifolia, and clover. The plant has three leaves about 3 cm long with toothed margins and branches veination. There is no flower or fruits yet. It is on a peninsula onto Lago Brown meaning it likely has a lot of water access. The plant appears to be shade tolerant, as I have only seen them under closed forest canopies. I wonder if the European hares enjoy eating the berries as they do in the U.S. The weather is 16 C, 1 winds, and 80% clouds.
