Specimen was found under a flipped log. was missing an eye and displayed some darkening of the skin. Seemed disoriented when walking, possibly neurological issues, would "flip over" often and seemed generally unwell. Images are screenshots from a video

Found with open head lesion, but the animal did not appear to have been stepped on.

Found in a side stream to the main creek. The first photo shows it in situ. I thought it was dead, but as I picked it up I saw its throat move as if gulping for air. Otherwise it was lifeless. Rather disappointing for my first torrent salamander.
Saw this ~2ft individual with a large food item resting on the side of a trail.
Dead salamander found under artificial cover board that is part of the SPARCnet project. The tail was detached and vertebrae showing. Surrounded by slug eggs. There was another, healthy salamander under the same board that was marked and returned. We have marked over 200 salamanders since April 2017, and this is one of two casualties we've observed.
