READ before correcting my ID to genus. We are doing a project on the life stages of D. plantarius and D. fimbriatus. I am convinced that the two species can be separated even in the juvenile stages. Therefore we are visiting two locations, one where we know that only D. plantarius is present, and one where we know only D. fimbriatus is present - That is how these are reliably identified - The species have never been found to overlap in Denmark, apparently their requirements are different. We are documenting the juveniles and their variations. We are also doing barcodes on them eventually

Habitat: Eucalypt forest: vegetable garden. Substrate: stem of Foeniculum vulgare (fennel). Description scattered to gregarious stalked sporangia, 1.2 mm high. Sporotheca subglobose, 0.4–0.6 mm diameter. Stalk slender, subulate, yellowish brown, darker at base grading to lighter at apex. Hypothallus: discoid or continuous under adjacent sporangia, yellowish brown. Peridium: white crystalline lime, dehiscence irregular. Columella absent but large pseudocolumella discoid, white. Capillitium: delicate hyaline threads attached to pseudocolumella and peridium; hyaline to light brown by transmitted light Spores dark brown in mass, brown by transmitted light, coarsely warted with clusters of warts, 10 µm.

2 specimen (both females/1 female & 1 subadult) found in Parasteatoda tepidariorum web, one of them preying. 1 specimen taken in captivity for more detailed analysis and somewhat better pictures for identification.

Several tufts on the underside of decaying Pomaderris apetala. Tufts approximately 10 mm tall; sporotheca 3.5 mm, stalk 2 mm. Surface net of even meshes, internal net sparse, spores 7-9 um, faintly marked. Yellow plasmodium, silvery hypothallus.
