Nature Walk, February 22, 2022
On Tuesday, February 22, we walked from campus to Oakland Lake. This was the first time we had all been outside together and I was glad to take off my mask and get to talk to you. I had been hopeful that the wind and rain would hold off, but sadly, it did not. Even so, we got to see the raindrops speckle the surface of the pond.

i saw plenty of geese roaming around, some where even waiting for the cars to stop so that they would cross the street i would also see them just relaxing in the lake. since it was raining it was unpleasant to walk on the dirt now turned into mud
During the nature walk with our peers from class, I was able to "breath in nature" using my five senses. I smelt the wet mud from the bottoms of my sneakers, the moss from the trees, and the group of geese following along the pathway. In the short time spent it felt really relaxing to and taking pictures of as well as going for the first time with the class left a keeper in the memory box .
On the nature walk I saw many geese, and ducks that were in the area. I could also smell the fresh rain, which has always been my favorite thing.
I wasn't able to take pictures or use the iNaturalist app because it was raining and I didn't want to take out my phone, but I certainly observed the rain! The rain did surprise me that day, and I had not come prepared. The birds were very pretty that day though, and they seemed unbothered by the rain. They were still floating on the lake, or flying around, but I suppose they live outdoors so they're more used to being out in the rain than us home-dwellers are.
I actually did take a picture, although the weather and vibe of the day was overall muddy the picture gives me a vintage and authentic feel. As we walked through the park I noticed the pond which was refreshing to see, I also noticed the different types of birds ducks, and geese which was also refreshing compared to seeing our everyday pigeons. Although most people appreciate better weather and more vibrant colors I actually appreciate seeing nature for what it is, it gives a sense of feeling balanced.
On this nature walk, I saw geese and all around just a lot of nature I smelled the fresh air of rain outside and got see more things as a class than what i would have seen on my own
when we went on the walk, it was raining a lot. we could even smell the humid air around us. i also saw geese and i would've enjoy the walk more if it wasn't raining
