Counted 19 flat newts (2 were in the Midpen/HTH Population Study exclusion zone).
Other roadkill: a toad
There were lots of live newts in the study traps. The north section appeared to have multiples more heading up slope (caught on the reservoir side buckets) than down slope, which creates artificially low numbers.
