Raised on the outskirts of Missoula, Montana chasing snakes, butterflies, and storms. I earned a Botany degree at University of Montana. Seasonal Forest Service work turned into a 25-year career, primarily on the Bitterroot and Lolo national forests.

Now retired and engaged in books, volunteering, family visits, walks, gardening, occasional travel, and contemplating the wonders of the natural world.
