Lane is a science educator currently working at California State University, Fullerton, and Mt. San Antonio College. She is also getting her teaching credential to teach high school biology. Lane did her masters work with Doug Eernisse at CSUF working on seagrass limpets and the reproductive constraints of living on different species of seagrass. Lane loves being outdoors but some disability issues have made that much harder over the last several years.
