I am an Assistant Professor of Ecology in the Biological Sciences Department at California State University Los Angeles. Research in my lab is centered on terrestrial ecosystems and avian communities. We also work with butterflies and are starting a project to learn more about insects among different plant species in the LA Urban Forest. We spend lots of time outside in southern California (and a few other study areas e.g. Big Bend National Park), and use iNaturalist to document our sightings and learn more about the plants and animals that we work with!
