I'm currently fascinated by Piedmont/Appalachian fire adapted plants and habitats around the DMV (there aren't so many), edaphic endemism, and rare plants.

I ID a lot of Lespedeza spp. mostly because the native and invasive species are look-alikes and there are a lot of un-identified observations, some with people wanting to know if that thing growing in their yard should be yanked- usually that's a yes.

Professionally I'm a bioinformatician, so if you know anyone who needs some genomic analyses or phylogenetic inference done for plants hit me up!
