I have been fascinated by bees because of their great diversity and importance as pollinators, which has led me to study them in different parts of the world. I work as an Associate Professor at the University of La Laguna, so I have the privilege of studying the bees of the Canary Archipelago, which is a unique place to study the evolutionary processes that have generated a high number of endemic species and at the same time a fragile and vulnerable place to human impacts.
