I am a site steward at Lost Valley Prairie Scientific and Natural Area. I spend 200 to 300 hours a year improving the prairie by removing invasive plants, collecting and scattering native plant seeds, and monitoring the site for plant and animal colonies. I am also a Minnesota Master Naturalist for the prairies and potholes biome.

In my own yard, I have become very interested in bees. Last year (2017), I put up several bee blocks and had 7 different species use it. This summer (2018) I plan to put out more bee blocks and put out bumblebee boxes as well. I am collecting mouse nests this winter from my garage and will put them into the bumblebee boxes.

I joined inaturalist because I want to share the phenology information I collect as well as put out the information on the bees I find.
