14.65 miles round trip. Light pack. Conditions were gruelingly hot and sunny.

Jesusita trail to 3 pools trail. We got past 7 falls but not quite all the way up to 3 pools.

Tunnel trail to Camino Cielo Rd, and partway down Gibralter Dam road to trail. Hiked in a cloud most of the day. Only saw one lizard, a large alligator lizard on the north side. All prime pantry packaged snacks for convenience sake, worked pretty well.

Pack: Race-vest with 1.5L water, dopp kit, and first aid kit.

11ish miles round trip, 20# pack at the beginning of hike. Saw two rattlesnakes right on the side of the trail, and two adorable little horned toads. Plus, giant banana slug! Great day for fauna observations, although I didn't get my gopro out and clipped to a trekking pole fast enough to capture either rattlesnake.

Long hike today. ~19 pound pack, lots of snacks with no meals needing sporks. Dr. Kraker with cheddar and pepitas are lovely with peanut butter. Saw quite a few critters, including a gravid looking scorpion after dark that was way cool.

Rattlesnake trail to connector, then Tunnel trail to Gibralter road. Carried a 15lb pack and enough water this time. Trail snacks were ok, forgot to season the couscous and forgot to pack our sporks. Seeing the rattlesnake was very cool. It had a nice loud big beautiful rattle. I am curious what will hatch from the eggs in the cistern.

Parked by no shooting signs on Gibralter Road. Hiked down, connected to west fork cold spring then cut back off to take the trail to above the falls. Decent amount of water over the falls. Light pack day, 1.5L water in running vest. Ran out of water ~1 mile from the car on the way back.

16 pound practice pack. Ridge trail to cold spring, up to Camino Cielo. Mild day at the top, very low wind. Forgot flashlight, last mile in the dark with cell phone light. Few observations, mostly lichens.

Carried backpacking pack with 16 lbs. No water over the falls, just a few dripping rocks.
