Horrible photos, but note streaking breast with plain head, stubby bull, and relatively long, square tail
Either this or possibly a female indigo bunting. I'm going with grosbeak based on the beak.
:( posting mostly because I hadn’t seen this type of bird in the area before, and I’m wondering if it’s related to other wildfire smoke bird deaths.
Another dead migratory bird I believe.
Dead green tiny bird
Found this poor little guy, deceased in a pile of leaves while raking the backyard. Guessing a casuality from the wildfire smoke of the past week. Not sure if I need to log this with local Audubon or ODFW, so if someone does, please let me know.
Posting this on behalf of Elisabeth Maier. I did not see the bird. Wilson's Warbler is my best guess.
At 6:05 a.m. we saw this little dazed looking flycatcher that stayed in position when the dog sniffed him. Returning at 6:52 E had died. Had heard about this very thing on the radio yesterday so took pictures and am attempting to record it on inatuuralist as suggested on the radio report.
