Almost seems like a hybrid between cobaea and guadalupensis. The foliage definitely matches better with cobaea but the flowers are small. I guess the flower size might be influenced by the soils, moisture, or genetic variation as well.
Appears to be an undescribed entity. Very different from P. cobaea in the dallas fort worth area. These are much shorter, have smaller flowers, and appear to have thinner leaves. Also found growing on dry rocky slopes in juniper scrub. Also seen growing alongside Penstemon guadalupensis. There is the distinct possibility of this also being a hybrid. Weird plants!
