Growing in open, flattish area at the bottom of a small stream, which rises to the Mt Messenger Road. Probably established from a garden dump site next to road.
A mixed pine and Puriri reserve, has a lot of this kind of plant coming through. Smooth leaf edges, alternate, oval to ovate in shape, simple, glossy, lighter on the underside. Tips are both obtuse and apiculate. Leaf base appears attenuate.
Uncommon in neighbourhood streets. Probably planted
Located in sandy soil, in shade but otherwise sunny and dry, has lethal hooks on leaf. A bromeliad? But which one?
Not sure if a trumpet vine or wisteria. On edge of walkway.
Appears to be naturalised. Did not seem to be planted. On the Southern side of Waipapa Road, Kerikeri
I’m am trying to identify the plant with big leaves, is it puriri?
