The frog was in between long grass that surrounded a pond. It is dark green with several dark spots on the back. It also has a dark line that starts at the the front of the mouth and ends in the neck area. It was relatively calm and is about 1.5 cm long.

This frog was caught near Turtle Pond. He was camouflaged very well in the tall grass. There is a thin brown stripe running along the side of his face, through his eye. His body has a golden hue with small bumps. About an inch or so in length

This butterfly was spotted flying near some dry grass along side a trail. It was found in partial shade. The butterfly was flying alone but other California Ringlets were observed in the vicinity.

Small butterfly, roughly 2cm across at longest point. The head, abdomen, and body all were 0.5cm long together. The wings have a beige and white color with the outermost 1/3 being slightly lighter. There is a faint brown trim toward the outer edge of the wings. Slight fuzzy edges to the wings as well. This butterfly was found in partial shade near other butterflies including other California Ringlets.

This Jerusalem Cricket or "Potato Bug" was found underneath a 10 inch rock. The rock was covered in moss and was moist underneath as well as the soil below. The bug was found burrowed in the soil underneath the rock. The body and thorax is 3cm in length and 5.5cm with the antennae. Abdomen has dark stripes divided by skinny tan ones. The hind legs or thighs are significantly thicker than the other legs, thus indicating that this creature jumps. Each leg has a small hook at the end. Each leg has small spikes on them too.

Large grey waders with blue-grey legs wading in a roadside prairie pothole; 2nd photo is of one of these waders carrying an algae-covered fish or salamander that it has caught in this pothole; probably should submit the prey as a separate observation
