Located on fallen tree upturned root base;
Cap oval when young, then broadly convex, curled up/tattered margin, honey brown, darker in center/paler and greyish at margin, striations almost to center, fresh fruits covered with mica-like granules.
Gills attached, pale buff when fresh, course edges, dark brown at maturity;
Stem more or less equal, whitish/light buff towards base, finely granulated when fresh, silky at maturity;
Spore print very dark brown/black;
Spores iodine stained, subelliptical to mitriform, smooth.
