G. Morrison (@grmorrison) says this is a mixed patch of Crassula connata and Crassula tillaea. This observation is for C. tillaea. Here is the observation for C. connata:
Under microscope counted 5 sepals. Keys out to C. Colligsta subspecies lamprosperma.
Slender shrub/tree about 2 m tall growing between the Cobal Canyon Trail and stream in the canyon in the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park.
Growing in fine-grained silty soil that had collected behind a rocky outcrop along the South side of Bass Lake at the Bass Lake Regional Park.
