Located on mossy soil over rock along the lower road to the pond at the John Burroughs Slabsides Nature Sanctuary, Esopus, NY.
A sample of this lichen was collected with permission of Joan Burroughs, and sent to the New York Botanical Garden in NYC, for laboratory identification. It was identified by Dr. James C. Lendemer and retained in the Steere Herbarium. It is posted on the CNALH database as sample SLB-1082, catalogNumber 04275392
