I came across this fly while out to dinner. It stayed near us cause of our food and drinks since we were sitting outside.
I was making sure that all the dogs have water at APA and i realized this Gecko inside a dog water bowl. It was a yellowish-cream color with some brown spots. I tried getting it out of the bowl but it came back. It was probably just trying to cool off from the heat?
As I was filling my car with gasoline, I spotted this walkingstick climbing up a cement pole at the Express Gas Station on Manchaca Rd on a warm and sunny afternoon.
Temperature was warm and humid with recent heavy rain. Picture was taken on the side of a trail.
Large brown mushrooms, 12 cm in diameter of cap.
(What could possibly be Turk's Cap), this plant has relatively small red flowers sprouting from the tops. The leaves are quite large (approx. 7 inches long).
Although I believe it to be a Malvaviscus, I am not 100% certain what this plant is. It has a bright red flower blooming from it in multiple spaces and it was on a grassy hillside.
