Note the giant bill; yellow head; white throat; brown gular pouch.

Note parotoid gland that touches postorbital ridge; three or more warts within the dark spots. Coloration varies considerably but shades of brown and gray are most common.

Note the black band w/ silver tip on abdomen.

Note short, thick bill; brilliant red plumage with black mask and throat.

This observation is for the JB. Note the iridescent copper-colored elytra and green thorax and head. This invasive pest arrived in the USA sometime prior to 1912.
