Cap, deep purple around the edges with blotches of lighter purple in the middle. Cap a little curled under. Big hole in the middle going into the stalk. Stalk was gray and rubbery. Growing near redwoods, CA native blackberry, and tanoak. No smell detected.
Growing under oaks. One photo shows what looks like dark brown spores fallen from an open mushroom onto an unopened one. Gills salmon colored on younger caps, dark brown on older. Very mild scent to the flesh.
Cherry red cap and stem. Stem was very long almost felt vine like. Growing under live oak in decaying branches. No detectable smell.
