Grows in the mangrove fringe under the shade of large paperbark. Probably dispersed by birds. 3 m high loaded with ripening fruit. Berries about 8 mm fleshy containing one seed each. Introduced from Asia.
In the early autumn, it flowers millions of tiny yellow flowers 1mm across, and attracts swarms of bees and other flying insects
