Found dead, caught on the sticky leaves of a potted drosera adelae.

Seen by Western Creek Track. On the date observed, crane flies seemed to be widespread everywhere between Whiteleys Hut and Lady Lake Hut.

I have seen these craneflies elsewhere on the vertical faces of raised areas of coastal rock platforms dampened either by waves in the previous high tide or wind-blown wave spray.

Flower is Xerochrysum viscosum (Sticky Everlasting)

Approx 25mm in length.
