Photos 1-3 show the bee grooming, mouthparts extended. Photos 4-6 are, I believe, the same bee. It landed on hard-packed soil, and appeared to investigate a depression, but did not dig or enter a burrow. This is the only golden bee I saw in the area, which was otherwise very busy with small, nesting Lasioglossum.

As my Mom and I watched over the water, a small turtle poked its head out from under the surface. At that time, we were still both bewildered by the dead fish seen in this observation (https://inaturalist.ca/observations/157940101). It was a bit far, and we wanted a closer look. That's when my Mom had the bright idea to tell the turtle to swim over and bring the fish to us. She called the turtle her "lil' friend".

To our amazement, after being told, the turtle began swimming in the direction of the dead fish! Half-way there, it made a quick stop and looked up at us. My Mom reaffirmed what she wanted the turtle to do, and so, the small reptile continued its mission. It followed the reeds, making its way toward the carcass. Was the impossible about to become possible?

The turtle began to swim deeper into the water and just as it reached the rotting fish, it swam out of sight. Darn! Luckily, the wind would help dislodge the fish from the reeds and we would eventually get a better view, no thanks to this turtle.
