Among the many wasps in my observation 81929085 were a few like this that lacked the orange markings. Still some sort of Ammophila?

??? Who here is good with poop? The scat starting point is about 30+ feet up a desert canyon wall. It falls down the crevice and piles on to the desert floor. It's seasonal. In the hotter summer months, not there. I've seen dark gray chest feathers that landed on the poop. No tracks. No birds flying. Seems nocturnal-ish. Pack Rat? Roosting space ???

Visual Description: This bird has a white belly, grey feathers, and a black tail. Its feet were a light pinkish color. Its head was a mix of grey and white. Its wings were a gray with black edges. This bird was a small to medium-sized bird approximately 1 foot tall (not very accurate as I could not get close enough to the bird without scaring it). I believe it is a gull, possibly a herring gull (phylum larus). Like other gulls of the family laridae, this bid was also found near a body of water and was found in a location frequented by humans.
Habitat: This bird was found in a field in a local park. It was far away from the lake in the park. They are usually found in open areas where they can easily find food, including near garbage dumps.
Distribution: They are usually found along coasts and near bodies of water in North America.
