PhD in behavioral ecology, I have been into herps and insects since a kid.
More recently I have started paying attention to slime molds, that are especially fun to follow developing from plasmodium to a more identifiable fruiting body.

I also have a special interest in identifying Hamadryas butterflies (Crackers), for which I use the following resources:

• Glassberg (2007, 2017) Swift guide to the butterflies of Mexico and Central America
• the Bulletin of the Allyn Museum has ID keys, maps, and info on specific groups, such as Jenkins (1983) on Crackers
• the key in Murillo-Hiller (2012) is more recent and is a good complement to Jenkins (1983)
• Butterflies of America when I need to check additional pictures, including of type specimens
