Does it have a flower stalk?

Trilliums can be difficult to identify but it's amazing how much mileage you can get from one simple question: Does it have a flower stalk? The answer to that question cuts the number of possible species in half, and depending on location, it might even identify the precise species. Check out the following article for details:
