Moist Evergreen Forest

In the moist evergreen forest near Strawberry Canyon, there are many Coast Redwoods and Ferns. In this niche, water and moisture are abundant, so there is a very diverse population of plants, animals, and other organisms. Ferns have adapted to live in the moisture. The fungi have adapted to live on or nearby trees and mulch. They break down plant material and absorb the resources. The centipede was living within a fallen tree, eating the wood and living amongst beetles and spiders. The moisture in the rotting tree serves as a great source of water and nutrition.
