My iNat Search and ID Tools

These three URLs (*) find observations of species in an area that I haven't seen myself:

1) https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=1921&rank=species&subview=grid&unobserved_by_user_id=hkibak&taxon_id=47332&view=species

2) https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=146073&rank=species&subview=grid&unobserved_by_user_id=hkibak&view=species

3) https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=1847&rank=species&subview=grid&unobserved_by_user_id=hkibak&view=species

(*) Thanks! @graysquirrel

Note: Searches may return fewer results than expected unless you first override certain default filters (quality_grade=needs_id, reviewed=false in Identify 77; verifiable=true in Explore 807; default place in either). Any or all these defaults can be overridden using the existing Filters window. To ensure that no default filters are limiting results you can also manually add the following to any search URL:

Taxon Identifiers of interest to me:
Adenostoma fasciculatum taxon_id=47146
Frangula-californica taxon_id=53423
Cylindropuntia ramosissima taxon_id=68416

Glad I could help you out with the search URLs! Another one that can be useful is the "&without_taxon_ID=" modifier. For example, I'm working on observing every species of vascular plant recorded in my county but I recently decided to exclude grasses and sedges from my efforts. So I use this one to keep track of what I haven't seen: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=2319&rank=species&taxon_id=211194&unobserved_by_user_id=graysquirrel&view=species&iconic_taxa=Plantae&without_taxon_id=47162
(you can exclude multiple taxa at once by adding commas between the taxon numbers - just for example "&without_taxon_id=47162,53438,311249" would exclude Rosa, Poaceae, and Bryophyta)

Wow! The exclusion key and comma separators are a nice thing to know!!
There used to be a journal called The Hackers Quarterly a.k.a. 2600 The Hackers Quarterly Magazine that had a column on Perl One-liners... which is what your URL strings remind me of :-)
