Invasive Bugs eating Trees more often during Droughts

Trees carry a lot of moisture in dry weather and do eventually wilt if not received any rain for a while, and with this attracts many invasive species of insects. I noticed at my home that Japanese beetles were eating the wild apple trees' leaves and although still alive, this weakens the tree's durability. Other trees that get eaten during dry spells include maples, oaks, and cherry trees.
