Senescent plant

Basing ID on leaves only.

Sorry for the bad photos. Senescent plant with large, toothed cauline leaves. Branched panicle. Seeds with white pappus.

Growing along a trail on the way up to the overlook. It may have been planted but is not being tended in any way now.

Shrub with small, grayish toothed leaves. Slightly glandular. No flowers, looks like buds are still forming on the branches.

Some kind of Nassella patch above the trail. No seeds or flowers still on the plants.

Dried flower/seed heads on plant.

Apparently growing untended up in a canyon. This is looking east from lower part of the overlook trail.

Sapsucker drillings on this Pepper Tree.

Is this an ash tree? Smooth pinnately compound leaves. I couldn't see any obvious fruit. Could have been planted. Near the bathrooms in O'Melveny park.

Growing in lawn areas in park. Long, very compact inflorescence.
