Is there any enthusiasm for an outdoor meeting for iNaturalist users in NW Wales? I’m suggesting meet Saturday 31 August, 11.00, near Tregarth and visit an area of interesting habitat with few wildlife records. Bring a packed lunch and continue in the afternoon. It would generate useful information about the site and the social side could be as useful if not more so - meet like-minded people, learn field techniques, swap tips, and who knows what future collaborations might result. If you would like to attend, please let me know by 23 August.

Phew, looks like I got away with it. Things can seem like a good idea then a week later you are thinking "Why did I start this? I'm not short of things to do."
@jhbratton - I'm not sure you tagged anyone in your journal post, so I'm not sure it would have been easy for people to see this. I saw your message on the forum, and was interested to check in with you how this went, but it sounds like it didn't happen. I think it's a good initiative, and something I'm interested in exploring too, so please keep me posted (even tag me, though I'm some way from you!) if you try this again...
Hello. I don't know what tagging is so I probably didn't do it. I was expecting people who iNat in NW Wales to see either the forum post or the journal. So no, there was no gathering yesterday, though I did some wildlife recording.
Tagging is writing @username, like @jhbratton - that puts a message in user's notifications. Of course not all of them check those regularly, but you have a much higher chance of people seeing the post...
Thanks.
John
