Blue Fleet Monitoring Southern Africa
How exciting! Here is another Blue Fleet project that monitors what lands where in Southern Africa.
It is interesting to see that the most observed species in both projects is the bluebottle, but the rest of the top 5 are in a different order with our Janthina exigua (number 4 on our list) not recorded in that project, or anywhere else in the world apart from our little country :)
However, they do have the Argonaut in their project, so I will have to do more research and if that is a part of the Blue Fleet I can add in the 9 obs we already have recorded of the Knobby Argonaut (Argonauta nodosa) found in NZ. Would you say that is a part of the Blue Fleet @clinton?

Argonauts - I just assumed that they were part of the Blue Community (or Fleet - a term I have not come across before), because they wash up with other members of the community.
But I see that Wiki claims that most of the standings occur following the breeding season, so I might well be wrong. Looking forward to hearing more: and hopefully our projects will shed more light on these possibilities.
(PS: we hope to have our data migrated from iSpot soon, which will triple the size of our project.)
Thank you for commenting @tonyrebelo about the Argonauts - I am now thinking they are not part of the Blue fleet - which is what this project is dedicated to, but you could leave them in your project as both of us project creators can make the rules for our projects LOL

The create a quiz in iSpot is great - but I do not know much outside of NZ although I could guess my way around the invertebrate and mammal (easy) quizes but the bird quiz I could not get one right - probably because NZ is awash with endemic and those are the ones I sort of know :)
