Grasslands and birds are my first love, and my favorite thing to search for and photograph. However I am also interested in butterflies, bees, and dragonflies (though my knowledge base of these only extends to looking in my field guides). Working in rangeland management and prairie restoration makes plants a major part of my life, especially grasses which I have deep appreciation for. They aren't flashy like wildflowers (or birds and butterflies), can be challenging to ID, and most people overlook them but it is a hugely important and awesomely diverse family. Once you take the time to get to know them, they are actually just as interesting and beautiful as any other flower out there!
