I'm a fly taxonomist, meaning I search for flies around the world, give new species names, and try to figure out how different flies are related to one another. I find most insects fascinating, and am always on the lookout for them wherever I go.

My PhD research was on the systematics of stilt-legged flies (Micropezidae), particularly Micropezinae. I am also interested in true fruit flies (Tephritidae) and soldier flies (Stratiomyidae).
