Since ~2004 I have been trying to document as many arthropod species as I can, slime molds and some fungi, on the acreage I live on. This land and all the creatures on it are very dear to me. It has been in (and out and back in) my family since the late 1700s or so.

I'm so happy that in 2023 we were able to partner with Upper Savannah Land Trust to complete a Conservation Easement on the ~76 acre tract that I call home.

As a citizen scientist I have co-authored two zombie ant papers:
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/evo.13489
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25085339/

And am very honored to have the zombie fungus that I documented and worked on here in SC for several years named after me:

You can read more about this species, and 14 others introduced at the same time, here: https://www.studiesinmycology.org/sim/Sim90/Zombie-ant-fungi-across-continents--15-new-species-and-new-com_2018_Studies-.pdf
