I live in the thick of the elfin forest at 4200 elevation. I am so impressed with the variety and density of vegetation, in spite of the extreme weather, poor soil and abundant plant eating critters. For 50+ years I lived In the desert where I grew roses, herbs, vegetables, fruits trees and beautiful flowers. No longer can I grow many of the aforementioned because the critters eat nearly everything that is planted outdoors.
However, I have come to realize that there is nothing more special than mother nature herself designing a unique, twisted and dwarfed elfin forest. Therefore, my new passion is to learn all about the plants, birds, butterflies, insects, reptiles and animals within this unique forest.
No more trips to the nursery and no lawnmower!
