I am a retired French botanist. I worked at the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle de Paris and the Centre ORSTOM de Cayenne on Aristolochiaceae, Boraginales, Gesneriaceae, Passifloraceae of the Guianas. I worked further on those at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. We now live in Corvallis Oregon and I am discovering the flora of the Pacific NW. I am interested in natural history in general.
My wife Amy Rossman is a mycologist and avid hiker. Our daughter Diane is an astronomer.
