I'm currently a PhD-track graduate student at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, where I study tree regeneration in bottomland hardwood forests. Outside of my tree-centric research I enjoy photographing small plants and plant parts, such as sedges, mosses, and buds. My field high-magnification photographs are taken either with a Canon 35mm macro lens (lower magnification) or a Mitakon Zhongyi 20mm 4-4.5x Super Macro (higher magnification).

Recent publication on collaborative work in South Texas: Winners and losers in dryland reforestation: species survival, growth, and recruitment along a 33-year planting chronosequence (opens in new tab).
