Riverside is a long, narrow county that nearly bisects southern California. Stretching from the eastern side of the Santa Ana Mountains all the way to the Colorado River and the border with Nevada. There are coniferous forests in the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa Mountains and large areas of desert, including most of Joshua Tree National Park and the Coachella Valley National wildlife Refuge. Riverside also encompasses the northern third of the Salton Sea along with its accompanying mudflats and marshes. This is a record of all of the plants, animals, and other wildlife I have photographically documented in Riverside County.
