Loten's Sunbird observed at dawn in Palakkad district of Kerala.

I have a habit of waking up early. But after flying to Kerala from Delhi, I had got lazy. For some days, I tried waking up early but I would always fall asleep. One fine morning, I woke up at 5:00 am and had thought of looking for some birds. I started birding at 6:00 am as the birds started waking up. I got my binoculars and headed to my balcony. The presence of birds made me feel happy and relaxed. But it was not the time to relax! I had to start making observations from that particular moment when I saw a small bird, the size of my fist, fly past my head and sit on a tree. It was a Purple-rumped sunbird. I later saw a bird that I thought never existed. I saw a Loten's Sunbird sucking nectar from one of the orange-colored flowers in my friend's garden.
After some moments, I saw a Red-Whiskered bulbul and a White-browed bulbul. And if you think that that was enough, I even saw a drongo. Not just any drongo, It was the Greater Racket-tailed Drongo.
Fortunately for these beautiful creatures, they are not facing threat living near my grandparents' house.
I will keep birding and uploading my observations and I'm aiming to find an endangered species.
