Berry Springs Preserve Herps of Texas report, 18Jan2022

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there was no group outing to Berry Springs Park and Preserve this month. However, two people checked on the amphibians while while wearing masks and social distancing.
Three amphibian species were observed in the main ponds: Rio Grande Leopard Frog (CI = 1), American Bullfrog (CI = 0), and Blanchard's Cricket Frog (CI = 0). No audio recordings were obtained, and photos were obtained for only the last species.
According to the USGS gauge station at Berry Creek at Airport Rd near Georgetown, TX (https://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/uv/?site_no=08105095&PARAmeter_cd=00045), there had been 1.14 inches of rain 30 days before monitoring and 0.38 inches of rain seven days before monitoring.
The monitoring period was 18:00 - 19:15.
Participants were Kathy and Amy.
Environmental conditions at the main ponds 45 minutes after sunset:
Air temperature = 65.1 deg F
Water temperature = 62.3 deg F
Sky = no/few clouds
Water level = below average
Relative humidity = 36 %
