South Dakota
Trip to South Dakota 5/28-5/30/2022
So I went to South Dakota to visit my grandparents and though that I would write about it. (Partly since I am bored).
Day 1: We got so South Dakota at abotu 3:30 p.m. after a 5 hour car ride. My grandparents own a farm out in the country (Live in town) that used to have sheep. It is a wonderful spot to birdwatch. We had a bonfire and didn't do much birdwatching that day. One suprise was seing a Smooth Greensnake, I had never seen a green snake before that! I also saw a Tom Turkey all fanned out. Lastly I am pretty sure that I saw a Clay-Colored sparrow a lifer!
Day 2: Well I am horable at writing so this will be short. But I belive that I may have seen a Northern Rough-Winged Swallow and I think a Yellow bellied flycatcher both lifer's! In the old barn I found a whole bunch of Great horned Owl feathers, some suggesting it was killed (By what?). Going on a hike we found a very small nest with a tiny blue egg belonging to a bird the color brown that I saw fly up but that was not event he best thing on the hike we saw a very small fawn laying in the grass not moving like a good fawn.
Day 3: I got sick so instead of getting to stay the rest of the week till friday I had to come back with my parents. But I did get a sapsucker picture!
So that was our trip...
