Manacus vitellinus

The Golden-collared Manakin is a small, round-shaped bird. Males stand out with a bright yellow neck and throat, black cap and back, and a greenish belly, while females display olive-green tones. Both sexes have orange legs. With a range spanning from Panama to western Colombia, this bird prefers the understory of humid forests and their edges. Its behavior is similar to other manakins, where males gather in leks to court females, engaging in displays with jumps and producing wing snaps accompanied by distinctive calls.
