wampishuk's Identifications

This species is fairly newly described (may be confused with P. morifolia or P. warmingii). It's located at an unusually high elevation although this is not surprising. From Cornejo & Kuethe 2022: "A specimen cited from a higher elevation recorded at 1100 m in Guayquichuma Jiggins 26), which is about 57 km to the east from the type locality in Puyango, might be explained by the presence of similarly seasonal dry forests in the Andes of southern Ecuador that may influence the occurrence of this species at a higher elevation".
