I caught a total of ten mosquitoes in a net in wet, dark, area with heavy vegetation near a high traffic tourist site, Rainbow Falls. Eight appear to be male Ae. albopictus, one appears to be Ae. japonicus and one I haven't been able to positively ID.

This mosquito was reared from larvae collected in Milolii on June 30, 2016. We noticed that the larvae was not developing quickly so we added two pellets of rabbit food approximately ten days ago. Graph paper: 20 squares per inch.

Specimen collected in net at Alae Cemetery north of Hilo. I had heard from a DOH entomologist that there was a large density of Albopictus at this location. There were hundreds of breeding areas in vases and containers. I observed mosquito larvae in some of them. Graph paper: 20 squares per inch.

This mosquito was found alive in a GAT trap in a friend's yard. It was very active when I drove the trap home so it seemed particularly strong and hardy. The yellow substance in its abdomen is eggs. Graph paper: 20 squares per inch.
